Configuring the Remote Notification Step for Assisted Treatment

Scenario: You want to set up a remote notification step to make it available for assisted treatment.

Prerequisites:

  • System Manager is in Engineering mode.
  • System Browser is in Management View.
  • You already created at least an operating procedure. For instructions, see Configuring Operating Procedures for Assisted Treatment.
  • At least one recipient group is configured in the Desigo CC Address Book. For instructions, see Address Book in the Step-by-step section.
  • The communication services (email, SMS, and/or pager) used by the intended recipients of the notification are configured in the system. For instructions, see Additional Remote Notification Procedures.

 

Steps:

1 – Create the Remote Notification Step
  1. Select Project > System Settings > Operating Procedures > […] > [operating procedure].
  • The Operating Procedures tab displays.
  1. Click New and select New Step Reno.
  1. In the New object dialog box, enter a name and description, and click OK.
  • The new step is added to System Browser.

 

2 – Configure the General Settings for the Step

You must specify the general parameters of an operating procedure step.

  1. Select Project > System Settings > Operating Procedures > […] > [operating procedure] > [step].
  1. In the Operating Procedure tab, open the General Settings expander.
  1. Enter values in the following fields:
  • Repeatable
  • Mandatory
  • Execution Mode

 

3 – Configure the Recipient of the Remote Notification
  1. In the Operating Procedure tab, open the Recipients expander.
  1. Open the Address Book expander.
  1. Drag-and-drop any recipient groups to the Recipient list on the left.
  1. (Optional) Set escalation rules, to notify additional recipients in case sending the notification to a group fails as follows:
    a. Select the group in the Recipient/Members list.
    b. In the Escalation Rules expander, set the Threshold and Timeout. This means at least one contact in the specified group must respond within the configured timeout.
    c. In the Address Book expander, in the Filter drop-down list, select People.
    d.
    Drag-and-drop individual recipients to the Escalation Recipient/Group/Timeout list. These people will be notified if the group fails to meet its threshold.
    e. Next to each escalation recipient, in the Timeout field, set the timeout value within which that person must reply.
    f. Set the Escalation Threshold. This means that, if an escalation is triggered, at least one person in the escalation list must reply for the notification to be considered successful.
  1. Open the Message Tailoring expander, and depending on the preferred/fallback devices configured for the notification recipients in the address book, compose the notification messages as follows:
    a. In the Device drop-down list, select the communication service (Email, SMS, or Pager).
    b. Drag-and-drop any automatic tags you want to use from the Message Tags list to the Subject and Body fields. You can also directly enter text.
    NOTE: For email notifications, the subject line cannot be empty. For SMS notifications, the maximum message length is 480 characters (divided into three messages). Longer text messages will be cut off.

 

4 – Save the Step
  1. Click Save or Save As .
  1. (Only for Save As) In the Save Object As dialog box:
    a. Select the main Operating Procedures folder or any subfolder under it.
    b. Enter a name and description.
    c. Click OK.
