Configuring the Incoming Email Service (POP3 or IMAP Protocol)

Scenario: You want to configure the incoming email connection.

Reference: For background information, see Email Service Expanders.

Prerequisites:

  • You obtained the incoming mail server settings for the email account that Desigo CC will use.
  • System Manager is in Engineering mode.
  • System Browser is in Management View.

Steps:

  1. Select Project > Management System > Servers > Main Server > Mail.
  • The RENO Configurator tab displays.
  1. Open the POP3 Protocol expander or the IMAP Protocol expander.
NOTE: These two expanders have identical fields. Complete the following steps on whichever one you have chosen to configure.
  1. Select the Enabled check box.
  1. Enter the settings of the email account that you obtained previously, from the system administrator or service provider, into the following fields:
  • POP3 or IMAP host name (for example, pop.example.com, or imap.example.com)
  • Port (for example, 995, or 993)
  • Security Type
  • Recipient
  • Password
  • Notes
  1. Click Save .

Information

NOTE:
Desigo CC diagnostics will automatically detect if there is a problem communicating with the incoming email servers (POP3 or IMAP4), or if one of those protocols is incorrectly configured, and generate an event to notify you of the fact.
