Connecting the Video System
Scenario: A Video Disconnected or Video Disconnected Not Aligned event is active. This means you must manually connect video to align the configuration in System Browser and enable video functions. Manual connection to video is typically required for new projects, for restored projects if not aligned, or if the video system was manually disconnected for maintenance.
- You have a correct configuration in the Video Configurator tab of the Video node.
NOTE: To avoid incorrect data alignment and possible data loss, a complete and correct VMS configuration must be in place before you start the connect command. See Milestone / Siveillance VMS Procedures.
- If applicable, you set the transaction mode to simple. See Switching the Transaction Mode for Video Engineering.
- In System Browser, select Application View.
- Select the Video folder.
- Select the Extended Operation tab.
- The Video Connection status displays.
- If the Video System status is
DisconnectedorDisconnected Not Aligned, click Connect.
- In a few seconds, if the command succeeds, a
Connect successfulmessage displays.
When connected, the system can display video images and acquire the camera configuration in System Browser.
- If the command fails, see Video Troubleshooting.
